8 years agoI did not have a good experience with Brent. I bought a Boise Bench home in July 2015; first home for my wife and I. He only had to show us three homes as we had spent weeks narrowing our list down. On the third home, we asked him to make a full-price offer. We terminated lease and this was the house, we loved it. Our one contingent was that the AC didn't cool the home. We signed agreements that it would be fixed. Day before closing, with lease terminated, we get in there and it had never been looked at. Never serviced, never touched. He had obviously never given it a second thought.
I had no choice but to buy it. We had no where to go.
The agreement was very clear... HVAC company would fix the leak, get it in working order to cool the house, provide receipts and certify. Never got done.
He took earnest money in cash midnight before I flew back to the east coast, I end up in an airport terminal trying to convince a locksmith to let my mother-in-law into our apartment, because guess what, you can't use cash for earnest.
Two lock boxes were left on the house that I had to cut off with bolt cutters. Big ones. They sat there for a month.
Maybe if your house costs in excess half a million it is worth his energy. Ours was $164K... just picket change in commission I guess. His brother in finance is a solid guy, will go straight to him when I am ready to purchase again.
I'm giving two starts because he is obviously knowledgeable, I just don't feel like my business was worth his time. We made it easy on him. Three houses before a full offer. We had narrowed it down to 4.
I was just a number. I will never Brent Dildine again.
