If I could give zero stars, I would. I purchased a home from a realtor which Imke Hartley (HomeVestors/UglyHouses.com) bought and remodeled and it has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the outside, the house looked “remodeled” — fresh paint, new flooring, and a few walls replaced. But once I moved in, the truth came out. They covered up severe mold and moisture problems instead of fixing them. I found water intrusion throughout the home, rotten wood under the house, and mold literally coming through the floors and walls. I had to pay out of pocket for encapsulation under the house, even though Amika knew about these problems the whole time. She admitted to it after the fact but then stopped doing any work, leaving me with ruined floors, unsafe electrical issues, and ongoing damage. I have text messages proving it. This is what happens when someone takes shortcuts and does everything half. They slap cosmetic “fixes” over dangerous problems just to sell fast and make money, leaving the buyer holding the bag. Now I’m stuck dealing with the fallout, health risks, and thousands of dollars in repairs that should have been addressed properly from the start. HomeVestors should be ashamed to have Imke Hartley representing their brand. She’s not just flipping houses, she’s flipping nightmares. Buyers beware — don’t fall for the paint and new floors. Look deeper, because what she’s covering up could cost you everything.
